On behalf of the Auckland Inter-Faith Council, we would like to warmly invite your faith community to take part in Exploring Sacred Spaces, our annual programme that opens the doors of Auckland’s diverse places of worship to visitors from all backgrounds.
Exploring Sacred Spaces gives people the opportunity to step into a sacred space that may be unfamiliar to them, meet the community that gathers there, and learn directly about their beliefs, traditions, and practices. In a city as diverse as Auckland, we believe this kind of first-hand encounter is one of the most valuable ways to build genuine understanding between faiths. It replaces assumptions with real conversation, encourages respect across communities, and strengthens the bonds that hold our city together.
